One of the biggest impacts on our church that has caused significant church growth happened when we baptized a young man named Marvin. He had an extremely bad reputation. His wife could not trust him because he was a liar, womanizer, and thief. No one could trust him because he was so bad. One day he arrived at the home of the minister. He began to talk until he started to tell all the bad things he did. He said he was tired of living this way and wanted help. We began to work with him. He accepted Christ and was baptized.
We continued to give classes in his home once a week. . His siblings, mother, brother-in-law and sister-in-law began to attend and noticed the difference in Marvin’s life. In a short time, his family observed his life testimony and converted. His wife, sister, brother, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law accepted Christ and were baptized.
When they were baptized we started meeting in different homes. A little bit latter, his sister, his other brother, and mother were baptized. They are now all active members of the church.
Our church’s attendance is around 50 to 60 people.
Summary of Leonel’s schedule
Monday through Wednesday studies at the Institute in the morning. In the afternoon, he helps the students study and memorize various scriptures.
On Thursdays he prepares the exams for students. Fridays he writes the exams for the students.
On Monday and Wednesday, he gives the devotional at the clinic. Toby gives the devotional on Fridays.
He attends church on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. He helps in various ways throughout the service.
