January 3, 2000 -- Return to Honduras from the States

Dear friends,

Amy called about 10:00 (Thursday evening) to say they were in a hotel in
San Pedro Sula after a long day of travel.  When they arrived at the Indy
airport they had to redo their luggage to meet requirements.  They had a
quick transfer in Houston and arrived in San Pedro Sula forty minutes early.
Martin, Yami's husband, met them, they shopped and did some business thingsand arrived at their home at 5.

The casita (guest house) had been broken into, but the house was not.  In
three months the house was incredibly dirty.  The pillows on the bed were
destroyed and there was about an inch of dirt and dead bugs on the bed
spread.  The decision was made at that point to go back to spend the night in
the hotel.  Yami and Lita are going to clean house in the morning while Toby
and Amy shop, get the new phone set up and then retrieve some household goods stored with friends.

At 7 they made it to the evening service at the church.  There was a very
warm welcome. The people noted that Toby and Amy were late for the service
and then they clapped and clapped for their return. The people had done a lot
of work on the church building, especially in putting in more lights, switches and wall outlets.  The "safe" room in which stereo and other valuables was completed except for the concrete ceiling.

Emilio and Yami seem to have done well with their respective dutiesl.  Toby
was impressed that 16 men were in the service tonight... and singing which is
unusual.  There were another 7 men watching from outside.

The Toyota truck is much in need of repair .  The tie rod ends are worn and loose, the brakes need some work, and the power steering is out. I don't
think that is all.

The temperature in the city was 70 degrees at 4 PM and at the house the
thermometer read 61 (at 4000 ft above sea level) when they arrived at 5.
Much better than the below freezing weather in Cincinnati.

They asked me to send this post right away to thank you all for a
wonderful three month visit home and your friendship, prayer and financial
support.  God bless you all.
