Dear friends and family,

Yesterday I had the last doctors visit before Daniel's surgery. Daniel, in case you do not know, is an 18 month baby that is from one of the villages our clinic serves. His bladder, intestines, and some other organs are in the wrong place. If not corrected he would probably die in the next couple of years. He can not have this surgery done in Honduras. After much prayer, we felt the Lord telling us to help this child. Since this is the next village where we want to do a church plant, it is very important that everything go well with this surgery besides the most important fact that Daniel's life is at stake.

It is a very serious surgery. The surgery itself will take 8-10 hours with at least 4 doctors operating. The surgery will take place on MARCH 5TH STARTING AT 7:30 a.m. This surgery has already been done 3 times so there is a lot of concern whether the wound will stay closed as it has reopened 2 times in previous surgery. They will break part of his pelvis to enclose it so it will be normal. They then will try to place the bladder which is much more enlarged than normal into it's normal place(the pelvic bone that is enclosed is being done to hold the bladder in place)as well as the intestines. Daniel will be in traction for 3 weeks and Intensive Care Ward until he is stabilized(this could be a couple of hours or could be weeks.)There are four major prayer request.

ON MARCH 5TH PLEASE PRAY THAT (AND PLEASE CONTINUE THESE PRAYERS):

1. THE ORGANS WOULD ALL FIT INTO THE STOMACH

2. THE SKIN WOULD BE HEALTHY AND CLOSE PROPERLY OVER THE SURGICAL SIGHT.

3. THE PELVIS WOULD STAY IN THE CLOSED POSITION

4. THE INTESTINES, BLADDER, AND KIDNEYS WOULD NOT BE DAMAGED AND WOULD ALL WORK PROPERLY AGAIN.

On behalf of Daniel and his parents, we thank you for your prayers.

Toby and Amy Hill
