Newly adopted Casandra at15 months old

Dear Friends,

I talked to Amy at around 5 this afternoon, Monday. We had a quick call around 6 Friday evening that she and Dr. Don Orth a visiting short term missionary doing dental work with a friend Dr. Jim Masters, were robbed at gun point while e-mailing at the business kiosk Amy uses. The gunmen, late teens, ordered them to the floor and hit Don on the side of the head and shoulder when he didn't move fast enough. They are continuing the dental clinics this week. Dr. Don Orth is at La Union with Yami and Martin and I'm not sure if Dr. Masters will join them. On top of all this the worn out truck keeps breaking down. With reluctance Toby and Jim Masters went down to the city to rent a vehicle this morning. The trauma of Friday is still with
them.

The thieves took Amy's wedding rings, passport, eyeglasses (sun and regular), camera, and important papers $150 in cash. At first I thought they had taken Don's passport but it seems they took money from him. The team is stunned by the event and the after shock has not worn off yet. A robbery Monday night with the Bible Institute has added to the overwhelming of
emotions in the missionary community. These wonderful people from various church backgrounds really do look out after each other.  The Chastains who work with the construction of the new Bible Institute are in the States with extreme post traumatic stress syndrome, having been held at gunpoint for over 6 hours while everything there was trucked off and personal injury was inflicted.

This is spiritual warfare where great things have been happening, both in missions and in government efforts to control the criminal element in Honduras. Prayer warriors are answering a call to the battle for the souls of Hondurans. We covet your prayers.

From the high o f Monday when they received their newly adopted daughter, Cassandra, through the trauma of Friday evening, last week was a roller coaster emotionally for Toby and Amy. Cassandra is adjusting to new parents, new home, new pets very well. The truck on which they depend is very sick and frustrating beyond measure. Pray that a new truck will be possible soon.
We are more than eager now to see our new granddaughter in person. Pray for the new parents.
