Dear friends and family:

We just saw off our group from Lexington, Ohio. They were a joy to have.  They worked very hard and had such wonderful attitudes.  This group really got a lot done.  They installed the roof and windows in at the new church building in La Union.  Two feet of dirt was cleared in front of the church so there is now a place for all the guys who don't want to come in the church building but do want to listen in.

Lexington was also able to start building the walls for Juan's room behind the church after finishing the foundation.  Juan will soon be moving up to La Union to focus more on that church. Our visiting team also put tar paper up around the clinic walls to keep out bugs and rain.  That was covered with plywood and painted. They put up lots of shelving for the clinic in the home occupied by Yami's family.  It looks really nice. Yami is very excited about all the changes.  The team was able to attend the first and second services in the new building which was great for them to experience.

One downside of the this trip was that three of the girls saw a baby die of malnutrition.  The poor little guy had pneumonia and was starving to death.  There was nothing I could do by the time the family brought him.  It was really sad.  The saddest thing is that this did not have to happen.  I have worked with this family since I have been here on hygiene and nutrition. Time and time again I or my workers taught how to bath the children.  The baby came to me filthy.  I insisted she bathe the baby before I would see him.  Actually I think I had said I would not attend their family anymore because they would not listen.  The other sad thing is that the daughter has worms really bad but they won't bring her in for treatment either so she could die also.

We are really excited to have Toby's sister Dawn and her two children (Chelsea 16 and Ky 13) here with us for a month.  They are such a huge blessing to the ministry.  Dawn is a writer so she is going to put together a portfolio for people to get an in depth understanding of what is happening with the ministry here. She will do other writing for us.  During the visit Dawn will also be helping me in the clinic.

Ky will be working with Toby for the most part.  In his free time he will be entering clinic charts into the computer.  Chelsea will be spending her time updating the charts from the Peanuts clinic. Many times people forget, lose, or lie about their clinic number. This prevents me from knowing their history and is a waste of paper which is really expensive here.

We thank you for your prayers and urge you to continue them.  Now that life is calming down a bit I will try to get E-mails out to you more frequently.

God bless,

Toby, Amy, and Cassandra Hill
