Dear friends and family:
Nearly two years ago FAME advised us that
they would phase out the funding for medicines this summer. Since there
are just three people in the FAME office with so many demands in new and
expanding clinics and hospitals, and IRS demands for careful records for
each of the seven FAME sent missionaries, it seemed better to have the
FAME sent missionaries form their own boards by January 05 and that each
mission would raise funds for medicines. We have received our last check
here in August. FAME will still send donated meds and we have been
saving where we can in addition to having money from churches and
individuals given for this cause. We have been cutting down costs in
various ways. We have about $1050 pledged monthly. Some of this has been
received and put in the Medicines bank account. If you know of
churches or individuals that would be interested in helping we have a
video explaining the need and featuring the ministry we have here in the
Merendons. We first sent the video last summer so some of you may have
seen it. If you have help for the purchase of medicines please advise how
much.
Thank you for caring for our ministry and the people of the
Merendon Mountains.
May God bless you.
