Dear friends and family,

Lately, we have seen some exciting growth.  One young man accepted Christ this last week after his father was murdered driving a taxi.  Here, the responsibility falls to the sons to find the murderer to avenge the death.  The son told Santos (one of our mountain ministers) that he did not want to do that and create a pattern.  He knew that if he avenged his father’s death then he would have a life of anger, bitterness, and many other negative emotions he saw in others.  He wanted the freedom that comes in Christ.  Toby took several guys with him to baptize him in the ocean.  Many of them had never been to the ocean so they had a great time after the baptism.  The exciting thing is that he is already witnessing to the people around him.  His wife will probably be the first one to accept Christ because of his witness.

Mauricio used to be a thief in the village where we live.  He used his intelligence to steal from other and organize those activities.  He accepted Christ a year ago.  For the first time last night he came to Toby’s discipleship group.  He would like to attend the institute.  One of the reasons that Toby is willing to send him is that a group of people is trying to teach him false doctrine.  By sending him to the Institute we can hopefully avoid those problems and get him grounded in the Word.

Emilio recently started discipling the Catholic delegate.  Marco caused Toby a lot of grief in our years in the Merendons.  It is exciting to see him interested in the Word.

We thank you for your prayers. For your continued prayers remember some of  the administrative problems we have been having.  Although not completely over God is working.  Because of such difficulties, and out of much prayer and advice, we decided to close our second clinic in La Union due to ethical issues on the part of the staff there.  The exciting thing is that since this decision was made the church attendance has been growing!  Our hope and prayer is that the clinic can be opened in the future and more lives will be given completely over to Christ.

This last year has really been a struggle but out of that struggle God is bringing victory.  Your prayers are what make that happen.  Without the prayers and support we would not see things changing in the lives of the people here.  Thank you so much for partnering in the ministry with us.

God bless,

Toby, Amy, and Cassandra Hill
