Dear friends and family, thoughts from October 4, 2004 The last week of September we held a campaign to deal with AIDS. We have learned that 1in 4 in our area have contracted the disease. A grandmother brought two of hers because the mother had died of AIDS. Usually another reason is given for deaths, but sleeping around is so very common here. We have forty single mothers in our community of 400. We feel the urgency to reach youth with the message of abstinence. Our young preachers have been a great help in this. Samaritan's Purse is training ministers and others to deal with AIDS in Honduras. There has arisen an evangelistic zeal with trained teachers. October 28 eight of our men are graduating at the Bible Institute and we are so very proud of them in the completion of the two year program. Preaching opportunities are opening even with one church that has had no openness to this time. We have seven churches and more in formation. The great need that we have is for support for the preachers. The economy is so bad the churches can't provide support. We are seeking churches or Sunday School classes to provide at least $100 per month for the eight young men. We do not have funds in hand for this work. We need to take every advantage of the ministry the young preachers can provide. Can you help us help them? In February we hope to have another ten men to study for ministry. Toby has been meeting with the men and teaching and discipling them in a very effective program. Your support makes it all possible. May God bless you, Toby, Amy, Cassandra and Sarah Hill
