Dear family and friends.
Many of you will remember Daniel Hernandez who was born with his bladder on the outside of his body, organs displaced and in need of repair to his pelvis. Here is an update.

We were told yesterday at English Church in the city that the child adoption agency, IHNFA is deeply in debt (11 million Lempires here). 97.6% of their funding is used for employees and only 2.3% for the children. There are over 106 children waiting to be adopted but the bureaucracy is not allowing adoptions to go through. Money for food and medicines for the children is nearly gone. We are rallying private organizations and friends to take care of or take in children if possible.

Our concern is for Daniel. He cannot live without food and proper medical care. Thankfully I ran into a friend who seems to know everyone. She told me a medical group from the States were starting to work with the First Lady Agua Oceana who is over INHFA. They left this morning, Monday, for Tegucigalpa to meet with the First Lady.

I had just an hour or so last night to gather paperwork on Daniel and I was promised the file would be hand delivered to the First Lady with a special appeal. Please pray that she will allow Dr. Dan and Sara Barkdoll to adopt Daniel. They have been working on this adoption for months. If that cannot happen we would like to care for him until the necessary process is finished. Paper work the Barkdolls have sent is being translated and their lawyer here said last night she would do all she could to get the process on the road.

Pray that "Exterior Relacions" will move quickly on this document and make sure everything that needs to be don will be done immediately.  Please pray for Daniel that God will move the mountains to have this adoption finished immediately. Please pray for the other children who face impending tragedy. The stories are heart breaking.

Sincerely,

Amy Hill, RN
